In more detail
Where each one fits
JobBOSS² is an ERP for job shops: ECI’s pages describe estimates that convert to orders, data collection on jobs and operations, whiteboard scheduling, inventory and purchasing, an integrated quality system, and accounting that’s either built in or synced to QuickBooks. It’s offered as SaaS, private cloud or on-premise. If you run a make-to-order shop that needs quality records and an ERP’s depth, that’s what it’s built for.
ShopJig comes at the same floor from a smaller shop’s side. A fab order comes from a BOM and routing (or as a one-off), a traveler prints with a QR code per operation, operators start and stop operations on an iPad, and their time lands inside their day clock so payroll export and job costing use the same hours. Around that sit the pieces a small shop also needs every day: the job board, costed stock and purchasing, invoices and pay links, an online store and QuickBooks Online.
What ShopJig doesn’t do
No quality management system, no capacity scheduling or MRP, no built-in general ledger (QuickBooks Online is the books), no QuickBooks Desktop and no on-premise option.
Switching
ShopJig imports items, invoice history and estimates from QuickBooks and catalogs from Shopify; see imports. For BOMs, routings and open work, talk to us during the walkthrough.

Is ShopJig an ERP?

When is JobBOSS² the better fit?
When you need a quality system with non-conformances and document control, capacity-style scheduling, built-in accounting, QuickBooks Desktop or on-premise hosting. ShopJig doesn't offer those.
When is ShopJig the better fit?
When you're a smaller shop that also installs or sells parts, and you want the job board, travelers, time clock, invoicing and an online store in one system that the floor can use on an iPad.
