In more detail
Two different jobs
Paperless Parts describes itself as quoting and estimating software for manufacturing. Its pages talk about analysing CAD for sheet metal and CNC parts so a shop’s team can answer quote requests, about hosting on AWS GovCloud with ITAR registration, and about connecting to the ERP the shop already runs. It’s built for the estimating desk at a job shop or contract manufacturer.
ShopJig’s instant quoting is a different shape. It sits on the shop’s own website: the customer uploads a DXF or STEP file, picks a material and thickness the shop stocks and a quantity, and gets a laser-cutting and press-brake price straight away from the shop’s own rates, quantity breaks and minimum order. There’s a worked, interactive example on the instant quoting page.
After the quote
Because quoting is part of ShopJig, an accepted quote doesn’t stop at a PDF. Its parts, materials and quantities carry into the job, fab orders and travelers, stock and the invoice, and the day’s totals go to QuickBooks Online.
What ShopJig doesn’t do
No CNC machining quotes, no nesting, no ITAR or CMMC hosting claims, and no ERP integrations: ShopJig is the system the quote flows into.
Questions
Is ShopJig a Paperless Parts alternative?
Only for part of what Paperless Parts does. If your estimators quote CNC machining and sheet metal RFQs for regulated industries and you run an ERP, Paperless Parts is built for that. If you cut and bend sheet and want customers to price their own parts on your website, ShopJig's quoting module is aimed at you.
Can customers get a price without talking to us?
With ShopJig's instant quoting module, yes. They upload a DXF or STEP file, choose material, thickness and quantity, and see the price with your quantity breaks and minimum order applied.
Does ShopJig quote CNC machining?
No. The quoting module covers laser cutting and press-brake bending.
