In more detail

Where each one fits

Shopmonkey is built around the repair order. Its own pricing page leads with what a repair shop writes up every day: inspections, MOTOR labor and parts data, parts lookup and ordering, text and email to the customer, and integrated payments. If your shop is mostly diagnosis and repair, and your service writers live in labor guides and parts catalogs, those are the features that matter, and ShopJig doesn’t have them.

ShopJig was built inside a working off-road fabrication shop that does installs, custom fab work and online parts sales under one roof. So it’s built around the job and what feeds it: a check-in with photos and a signature, parts pulled from a costed stock ledger, fab orders with BOMs, routings and travelers for the parts you make, operation time inside each person’s day clock, and an online store that sells from the same catalog and stock. At the end of the day, the totals go to QuickBooks Online as summary journal entries.

What ShopJig doesn’t do

Being plain about it: ShopJig has no third-party labor guide, no parts-catalog ordering integrations, no inspection texting or marketing campaigns, and no QuickBooks Desktop connection. If those are must-haves, put them at the top of your list when you compare.

Switching

ShopJig imports your catalog, orders and customers from Shopify, and items, invoice history and estimates from QuickBooks. See imports. For anything else, tell us what you’re moving from when you book a walkthrough.

Questions

Is ShopJig a Shopmonkey alternative for a general repair shop?

It can be, if you don't rely on built-in labor guides, inspection texting or parts-catalog ordering. ShopJig doesn't have those. If they're central to how you write repair orders, Shopmonkey or a similar repair-focused system will suit you better.

Why would a shop pick ShopJig over Shopmonkey?

Usually because the shop does more than repair. If you build custom parts, run a fab floor or sell parts online, ShopJig keeps installs, fab orders, travelers, stock, the online store and QuickBooks Online on one system.

Can I bring my data over?

ShopJig imports catalogs, orders and customers from Shopify, and items, invoice history and estimates from QuickBooks. Founding shops get hands-on help with the move; ask about your current system during the walkthrough.

Does ShopJig work with QuickBooks Desktop?

No. ShopJig is built for QuickBooks Online.
