Accounting with QuickBooks Online

Your accountant keeps QuickBooks. ShopJig keeps the shop. Each day's activity goes over as clean summary entries that tie out, instead of a thousand invoices and a reconciliation headache.

Accounting journal: The day's journal entries per invoice and payment, mapped for QuickBooks.

What it does

Accounting (QuickBooks), in plain terms

A costed ledger

Sales, payments, inventory movements and cost of goods are recorded with their costs inside ShopJig.

Daily summary journal entries

Each day's activity is posted to QuickBooks Online as summary journal entries, not one transaction per sale.

Classes and locations

Map activity to your QuickBooks classes and locations so reports split the way you already use them.

A/R tie-out

Receivables in ShopJig tie out to QuickBooks, so you can show the numbers match.

QuickBooks history import

Bring items, invoice history and estimates over from QuickBooks when you start.

How it fits the flow

How it fits the flow

  1. Quote
  2. Check-in
  3. Job
  4. Fab
  5. Invoice
  6. Books (this module)

Where it sits in the flow

Books is the last step. Everything earlier in the flow (invoices, payments, parts used, fab costs) is already recorded with its cost, so at the end of the day ShopJig summarizes it into journal entries for QuickBooks Online. Your accountant works in QuickBooks the way they always have; the shop never has to re-key a sale.

Questions

Does it work with QuickBooks Desktop?

ShopJig is built for QuickBooks Online.

Why summary entries instead of every invoice?

Can I bring my history over?

Yes. Items, invoice history and estimates can be imported from QuickBooks.
