Scanning, barcodes and labels
Typing part numbers and VINs is where mistakes creep in. ShopJig scans them instead, and prints the labels that keep a parts room and a shipping bench organized.

What it does
Scanning & labels, in plain terms
Camera scanning
Scan a VIN at check-in or a part barcode at the shelf with the iPhone or iPad camera.
Bluetooth and USB scanners
Prefer a handheld scanner at the counter or in the parts room? Those work too.
Part and bin labels
Print labels for parts and bins so the next person finds the right thing in the right place.
4×6 shipping labels
Print 4×6 shipping labels from the same place you pack the order.
AirPrint or share
Labels go to an AirPrint label printer (Brother QL label printers work) or out through the share sheet.

Where it sits in the flow
Scanning shows up all through the day: the VIN at check-in, parts pulled against a job, stock received against a purchase order, and counts in the parts room. Labels come out wherever they’re needed: bin labels when you set up stock, part labels when you receive it, and shipping labels when an online order goes out the door.
Questions
Which label printers work?
Labels print through AirPrint, and Brother QL label printers work. You can also share a label as a file and print it however you like.
Do I need a scanner gun?
No. The phone and iPad cameras scan VINs and barcodes. A Bluetooth or USB scanner is optional.
